So much had happened since I last updated.

Someone close to me is gone, I've been to the Amei concert which I had been looking forward to forever, I've been to Bangkok and back and now is back in the office, working.

Life is really a bitch, seriously. It takes some away from you and gives you back some, making you feel torn between two conflicting emotions.

From the start of this year, I can totally feel this conflicting emotion perfectly. On one hand, work is going pretty well for me. On the other, someone in the family was going through hell equivalent and when he finally gave up, he probably went to a better place while the remaining of us will have to suffer the loss. And of course, there was the Amei concert which I had been anticipating since last year and then it clashes with the family problem. I still did attend the concert but I guess the feeling is somewhat different. Then something even more incredible happened to me - the money changer gave me more Bahts than I had changed for, effectively making my exchange rate super high.

It's like life decided that it had dealt too harsh a blow and then tried to make more good things happen to soften the impact. It's strange.

Hillary @ Vivocity

Yay, I'm happy! I'm finally clearing most of the stuff that I had uploaded a while back. I feel SO accomplished!

Hmm, I remember this day at Vivocity because I drove there! And by the time I got out, the parking charges were about $10. And there was a percussion competition organised by NTU in which me and sis saw a few friends there, surprisingly.

Hillary Cafe on the first storey of Vivo. Quite a quaint little place with pretty interesting decor. At least to me, its appealing. Not hard to see why right?

Thats the menu. Hot pink! xpr and kutu will probably love the menu and try to steal it back, if not for them being a little cowardly.

Oh, and I didn't mention that this place was somewhat themed around tarot readings and some aura reading thing. The 'table-mat' was like that.

And there was a book with some details of the aura thing and telling people what are the suitable kind of food for each different aura.

They had this huge Egyptian mask hanging over the door inside the store. So cool!

Already had our lunch at Marche, we were there only for desserts.

This was banana chocolate cake ordered by the sister. I don't usually order chocolate cakes as most of them are pretty dry and the taste gets monotonous after some time but this was different! The banana taste blended very well with the chocolate cake as they didn't use banana essence. They used real banana bits. So while we were eating the cake, we could taste the banana bits too and it wasn't dry at all! Nice!

Oh, and the cute butterfly plate and huge strawberry on top of the cake added alot of points to it too.

Shaved iced with mango. We concluded that the shop was opened by Taiwanese as the waitresses were sort of dressed in maid costumes, though not as blatant as in Japan. And this shaved iced is very fine and yummy too. Melts in your mouth immediately! Think I had something like that in Taiwan too and I think its pretty comparable.

We were like 2 cuckoos lah, trying to take photos of their decorations in the shop. Oh, and did I mention that of all days, I didn't bring my camera on that day. All photos are courtesy of my trusty Samsung phone. :)

I think it is quite a nice place to go to, with great decor and pretty decent desserts. Not sure about the main courses though. I was more intrigued by their theme and more attracted by the mysterious aura they tried to portray with the tarot and aura reading service. Apparently, you got to make an appointment with the 'reader' beforehand, and its not free. Boohoo.

Lunch @ Old Hong Kong Kitchen Square2

More of the photos that I had uploaded long ago. See, its not that I don't want to post my photos, its just that the uploading process is so tedious and slow and I just can't stand it. Erm, so those who keeps bugging me to upload photos can help me upload and I will put in the captions! :)

One of the lunches with my aunt at Square2. Tucked in quite a corner we found this Old Hong Kong Kitchen place. Pretty nice decor, quiet and serves decent food.

And they have cute dining sets. So matching!

We ordered some floral tea and the teapot is so cute. It is sort of like plastic or acrylic and is pretty light. But again, I don't think that it is plastic because it wouldn't be able to withstand the temperature right?

And the cups are pretty cute too. (Goodness, I think that the keyword here is 'cute') It is of the same stuff as the teapot and it is pretty shallow. There seems to be some form of 'platform' thing inside the bottom of the cup and gives it a very nice look but the liquid that you can pour into it is pretty limited.

I believe this was awhile after I got a new haircut. Hair no longer so long now. But the fringe is still there.

She is sad. Probably because she has to take photos with me.

Oh! The hargow! Yummy and juicy and suc-cu-lent!

The siewmai is pretty good too. Actually the dim-sum there is quite up to standard.

And chee cheong fun. Not dry like those we see outside. The skin is pretty 'moisturised'.

And Peking Duck! How can we go to somewhere that sells Peking Duck and not eat it?

I think this is some prawn/mango thingy, I think.

This was what happened to the rest of our Peking Duck that didn't go into our wrap. We chose the meat to be wrapped in tofu-skin.

Carrot cake! You guys can like totally feel my excitement right? You can't imagine how happy I am when I see food. Or maybe you can.

The sister trying to look sad about her phone. Her lousy phone just died in a weird way. The external camera showed the loading screen when she tried to use it. And of course, it never ever loads. Her internal camera works fine but then how to take photos like that?

Then her phone decided that it had enough! Subsequently, when she tried to slide her phone up, it showed a blank screen, i.e. can't be used anymore.

Random Photos

Since I had logged into my Blogger after 10 million years, and these photos were already pre-loaded by me 100 million years ago, save me the trouble to continue loading my Japan photos. I can clear some backlog too. :)

Some dim-sum that we had some time ago at Ah Yat I think (don't even remember when, and with who!). I just remembered that I thought these balls look so globby and gooey, looked that they were going to jump up and eat us all and take over the world after that!

Our Karen-jie and Alan Shin from office. Taken a few days before he left. Hope he is doing so much better now! (And Karen is as black-faced as ever!)

See, we take photos so happy!! And that was when I still had my long hair.

Day of our Quarterly Department Lunch @ Garuda. Serves Indonesian buffet style food. Pretty decent spread and quality is not too bad for the price.

Ok, this is really testing my memory skills since these photos were uploaded eons ago. Can't remember where I took this but I thought that the weighing machine was damn cute. Looks like a robot!

Mango cake-jelly thingy from Cafe Brio @ Carlton Hotel. Looks pretty good but tasted pretty awful. Part of the buffet lunch spread when I went there for a PR/EQ course. Course content wasn't half too bad, if only the instructor was less naggy and irritating. He had all sorts of funny habits, for example kept on asking rhetorical questions and kept talking about the past, or rather his past. BORING!

Some pumpkin bun that we had at Ah Yat during one of our lunches. Looks pretty cute, doesn't it?

The chocolates, flower and cup that we bought for 2 colleagues' promotion! The cup is so cute!!

One of our outings to Clarke Quay, I think, because this looks suspiciously like the Liang Court Starbucks. Somehow, we will always end up in Starbucks. Whatever that I earned from them, I had returned to them x 10 million!!

This I remember! It was lunch in Malaysia with my parents, around Chinese New Year time. Gosh, that was like 6 months ago!

Anyway, this is yam paste. Damn yummy! One of my favourite desserts of all time!

This place that we had lunch has a very strange tradition. The boss will make decisions for his customers. Basically, if he says the chicken is good today, you can't say no. And if he says there is no fish today, he really means it. And if you try to over-order (like how I always do), he will refuse to take your additional orders.

Apparently, the day we went it was fried spring chicken day.

And noodles too! Looks gooey but yummy!

And since it was around the CNY period, he 'nicely suggested' for us to 'lou hei' too.

Xiao Long Baos from Beauty World Plaza. The stall is sort of tucked in a corner at the top of the plaza, which is a hawker centre. Pretty cheap (I think, since I didn't pay for it) and nice too I recall, although there has been mixed reviews on this. Go try it out yourself!

Ok, first set down. Many many more to go! Argh!!
