Yay, I finally finished my Book #6 - Jonathan Strange and Mr Norell. Took me bloody long enough! Almost an entire month!
But hey, the book has 1006 pages! No wonder that I took so long right? This is probably by far, the thickest book I've read, and I'm quite surprised that I had trudged through it.
It was not a bad book, infact it was pretty interesting. A novel, but written in the style of an academic publication, complete with footnotes (the thing that I hate most when I'm writing). The beginning part was a little slow moving, to be expected as the writer has to build up the foundation of the story, which by the way is about 2 magicians trying to restore magic back to England in the 11th century or so. On top of wrestling each other to be considered England's Greatest Magician, they had to contend with faeries (yes, it is that magical) who were trying to kill their king and take their women (very very loosely put here).
I think I can now restart on Stephen King's It, which was one of the few books that I had given up on halfway, the other one being that autistic book The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time.
Oh, and MPH Raffles City is closing down for renovation works. Their books are going at almost 90% off. Needless to say, I swept back about 5. Its quite little, considering that I had brought back more books from other sales.
