Friday at work was rather relaxed because most of the exam stuff are settled and all that was left was to return the scripts back to the exam department. The entire Friday morning was dedicated to counting scripts, tons and tons of scripts. And that depleted all our energy and brain cells for counting and we just slacked for the entire afternoon. Oh, and I caught a movie on Friday - Land of the Lost.
It is the most brainless comedy that I have seen for a very long time. Some of the parts are really funny I have to say but the rest are just brainless humour. Its like plain, dumb humour. I don't really have much to say about the show but part of the reason why I caught the movie was because they did a promotion with Bear Grylls on Man vs Wild and it was super hilarious. Link is here although I haven't had the chance to watch it. Didn't want to be too blatantly skivving at work but it looks damn hilarious la.
We are finally at the weekend! This should teach me not to update together an entire week's happenings all at once!
OK, Saturday was Museum-day again. Thinking that the Kangxi exhibition was going to end that Sunday but upon reaching ACM, right there on the banner in front of our eyes, it was printed clear as day - EXHIBITION EXTENDED TILL 28 JUNE 2009! All that rush for nothing! Anyway whatever interesting stuff that happened on that day wasn't that. It was something before.
While I was waiting for the bf, I went to the Starbucks at Raffles City Shopping Centre. The smaller one, not the big one out at the entrance. I went in, got myself a seat and went to get myself a coffee. At the counter, there were 2 girls in front of me and the man behind the counter was happily talking to them. So I patiently wait and queue. However, who knows what the stupid man was thinking. I was standing there, behind those girls and he didn't even bat an eyelid at me. In fact, I don't think that he even knows of my existence. He was happily chatting to the girls about some mundane stuff and from the snippets of their conversation I picked up, it sounds like a classic pick-up conversation. He was saying things like "Oh, so you are a morning person, or an all-day person? Hahaha.." It sort of got worse when the girls got down to their orders proper. Its like they have been standing there for ages and they haven't even ordered?!?! Was the guy even doing his job?!?!??? I was mildly irritated and quite amused. He even gave the girls 2 extra teabags and said something that sort of made me cringe slightly. He said, "I wish that I could stay with you till midnight but I can't."
Who says things like that to your customers?!?!?!?? And when it finally came to me, he just did the usual of taking my order and he sort of walked away. Ookkk... The girls were not exactly pretty so it's really weird. I understand that Starbucks values their services standards blah blah but this is kind of overdoing it right? I think it sort of borders on harassment. So strange. And the girls actually stood there and entertained him. What is the world coming to??
Yay, another long post. -.-"
Sunday was SIM Family Day and the venue was at the Singapore Zoo! Of course I went! It is the company's family day and we as staff, should support such activities! :) The only issue I had was that activities started damn early. Like 10am. Well, we reached around 10.30am and registered myself for a goodie bag (which only had an umbrella and a bottle of mineral water) and for the early bird lucky draw. Woo! How many opportunities do I have to qualify for anything that is early-bird? I'm like the last person who would qualify for such things. But I think Providence is trying to convince me otherwise. It is trying to convince me that the early birds really do get the worm because I won! I won $10 Coffee Bean voucher. And the final overall lucky draw, I won too. That was $30 NTUC voucher.
I did take some photos on Sunday so photos will be up soon, hopefully (cross fingers). Getting too tired to blog.
