The birthday boy! I didn't stop him from eating his chicken wing, it was cw.
His birthday card that was partially ruined by jy as he used something from a cake to represent his signature. See something brownish at the bottom right place on the fence?
So, on Friday I went to a show. I am tempted to call it a play but it is not exactly one. More of a one-man show. Comedy.
This year marks a difference in my choice of shows to attend. Previously there was Breakout which was a dance comedy. Now there is Defending the Caveman which is also a comedy and a one-man show at that. And before I forget, there was Avenue Q too which was more like a satire than a comedy but still funny. As compared to the shows that I used to go to like Phantom of the Opera and The Forbidden City (to name a few), I guess the genre is kinda different.
Oh, and it marks me going back to the DBS Arts Centre after 4 years and the last time I was there, it was for a children show in which I wrote a report review on. Right, I know that it is not exactly the best material to use as a report that will be graded but hey, there was nothing else at that season (or more like we missed the shows that season) and me and a friend had not much choices.
Anyway, the theme of Defending the Caveman is a rather interesting and prevalent one. Like the relations between men and women and how they relate to different things differently. It is kind of hard to go into details of what the actor said but the idea was that since everyone originated from the cavemen times (so to speak), whatever men and women are today is just an evolution of their instincts and jobs in the past.
In the past, the men hunted therefore they had to be focussed on only ONE task and do it good. The women were then gatherers who had to be aware of their surroundings all the time and bring home all the different fruits or vegetables that they can find, in a group. So, this basis segregation of tasks served as an excuse reason why men can't multi-task and why women likes to do shopping and gather around in groups. Well, I guess there is some stand to this reasoning but hey, I found out that I identified with the men's traits more than the women's. Except the multi-tasking part of course.
I throw my things around the house, though I sort of know where I threw them. I sometimes throw my wet towel on the bed and forget to bring it back to the bathroom and would get an earful from my mum. I sort of negotiate my way of situations so that I can do the bare minimum. I hate shopping. So, with all these traits of mine, I hereby suspect that the bf is gay. :)
