It has been more than a month since I started working and I think I should say something about it. And of course, everything I say will be related to food in some sense.
So, my concluding statement about working is that it will make me fat!
Lecturers or staff bring food back from their holidays or mangoes from Pakistan and tempt us! FYI, the mangoes are really sweet. And the lecturer was real sweet about it too. He actually took the effort to cut all the mangoes and inform everyone about it. We just had to pick up a spoon to eat.
I get to eat exotic-tasting chocolates as breakfast too. A lecturer walked around with a box of such chocolates, which tasted heavenly. It is cappuccino-flavoured and when I bite into it, there is the liquid that was hiding inside it, flowing through my throat. It is a combination of chocolate and coffee, good enough.
And, the said lecturer above who provided the chocolate was real nice and baked me a pizza too!! Everyone was commenting about how good his pizzas tasted and I was sad that I didn't get to try it. So, I "please, please, please, please, please" him (which he said made me sound real 可怜) and voila, the next morning I get this!
And because I am working and have no time in the day to catch up with friends, we had to meet in the night, which inevitably led to supper, which will make me fat! I know this is a bit hard to go with the 'blame-work-for-getting-fatter' theme but I don't care.
On top of all the food that people bring to me, there are really alot of lunches that the school likes to organise. From the day I joined, I've been to at least 4 lunches, which will amount to an average of ONE social lunch every week, which I think is quite a number.
With this going on, don't be surprised if the next time you see me, you can't recognise me because I might have already become a huge, fat lady!
