It is easy being a parent. It is not easy to be a good parent. I never thought that I would have a chance to say that.
To be a good parent, you have to sacrifice many things in order to provide the best for your kids. You have to learn to trust your kids that they are really doing whatever they told you they are doing. You have to learn to accept new things in order to be on the same frequency as your kids. You have to go against your better judgement at times and follow what your kids say in order for them to accept you. You have to give up many of your conventional and traditional thinking in order to keep up with the pace and to build up good relationship with your kids. There are so many things you have to do just so that you will not have a shouting match with your kids everytime you start talking. More so if you want to be their friend and expect them to tell you their problems. It is an art and a form of philosophy to be a parent. Nothing is easy.
