No matter how noble the cause started out to be, it will still eventually be corrupted. Somehow, this thought just stuck with me for quite a while. Look at all the charitable organisations. I believe that they started out with every good intention to do their best and their part for the society but how many still adhered strictly to that? Sometimes, some things might be compromised just so to make things easier for those who are managing the organisation. It may just be a biased view from me but just look the NKF saga not long ago. Look at you and me. I believe when we were young, we had all sorts of big dreams to be doctors, lawyers and bosses doing the noble things, being recognised, making all the money we could and provide for ourselves and our parents. As we grow up, all aspirations are gone. Gone are the days when we fantasise about living in big houses with parents. Gone are the days when we believed that everyone is good in the world. In place of all those naive thoughts is the constant fight for survival and all the back-stabbings of one another. In place of the filial piety is the constant thinking of how to get rid of parents without appearing too cold-hearted. Nothing last forever. The society shaped each and every one of us to be of the same mold, of the same thinking, of the same behaviour. In order to survive, one really has to give a lot of things up along the way. This shouldn't be how it works. But somehow it is.
