I heard a very interesting exchange between an auntie on the way to the temple and the bus driver on the bus just now. The auntie was speaking to the uncle in malay because he is Malay and he answers in Hokkien. How amazing is that? This is what localisation and multi-racism has brought about to our society. Where else can you find Indians who can speak fluent Hokkien and Chinese? Where else can you find Malay bus drivers who can speak Hokkien to aunties who reply in malay? This is truly a unique country. No wonder they get all excited and happy over small achievements.
