I just attended my SEA lecture in the morning and it was just horrid. The lecturer might just well be speaking a foreign language and no one would know about it. Her english was so accented that it was so hard to catch what she was trying to say. And I admit, I fell asleep in the lecture. Now in my friend's room waiting for my next tutorial which only starts at 4, meaning I have 4 hours of break. It's crap. Oh well.. I think a lecturer should have some basic requirements like ability to speak clearly and be understood well by students. The lecturers should also have a special aura which captures students' attention. Without all these, I would deem the lecturer as an unsuccessful one.
