I had a fantastic post written on Friday before the the stupid system ate it up AGAIN!! As I'm using the laptop now, I don't really know if it is Blogger's problem or the comp's problem. Well, I also can't do anything about the lost post but only feel pissed. In short, let me just summarise what I had wanted to say, minus the flourish in language, slight exaggeration and own comments. Ok, the first thing I wanted to mention was a stupid medical checkup which I had to take for NUS entry. We were given tissue paper to cover one of our eyes to read from the board. Super unglamarous stuff. Then there was this doctor whom my friends encountered and whom they suspected to be quite perverted because she made my friends lift up their shirts to show her their stuff and check for breast cancer. Fortunately, I was seeing another doctor. Nicer and more normal by 100 times I think. The second thing is the experience in the new National Library which just officially opened last Friday, 22nd July. For the first time, I was seeing so many people in the library actually borrowing books. Maybe they were just there for the ambience or the novelty but whatever the case, the people there, mostly kiasu aunties, made me queue up when I want to borrow books. Which leads me to wonder where are all those people normally when there are no opening of new libraries. Are they in the market, sitting in kopitiams gossiping or what? If the situation in all libraries all the time is like the situation in the new National Library, then I think that schools and the government will not have to use so much effort to try to force or encourage people to read more. Yep, above are the 2 amazing things which I managed to experience in a span of 2 days. But when I was so excited and amazed by the things that happened to me and wanted to write everything down, the stupid system has to dampen my mood. So there it is. If you guys think that there is not much effort put into this post, well you are actually right. Because I am just sort of recounting the interesting stuff that has happened. Imagine recounting the same things twice, I believe you guys will feel the same as me... And for the record, I have learnt my lesson. I have copied my post before clicking Publish Post and even if it doesn't get past, I don't have to type everything again. Smart eh?
