Haiz.. I have been trying to put up the emotion thingy on my site but apparently I failed.. If the emotion thing goes up, the position of my links will become screwed.. After much trying, I decided not to continue wasting my time and gave up.. haha.. Had my maths test today on P&C, prob and stats. I really pray hard that I can pass this paper, even if it's just 35, cos it's upon 70 marks. I don't want to do the 90% thingy again!!! God help me... Supposedly decided to not go out today with the intention of finishing my weekend homework but by the rate I'm doing things, especially online, I seriously do not think that I will get much work done. Anyway, surprise of all surprises, I actually passed the stupid history test which I was so certain that I was going to fail. Not too bad somemore: 16/25. Haha.. What a lousy situation. Didn't even pay attention to the lectures and was only skimming through the notes the previous night and ultimately decided to give up studying.. haha.. So now I know that whatever I consider rubbish and crap actually makes sense to mr loke.. haha.. Saw something that turned me off yesterday while I was walking to the interchange with kutu. We were walking past the playground and along the path that we normally walk, there was a little girl urinating by the side. People might think that there's nothing wrong because kids normally do that but no, that's not the worst part of the scenario. Firstly, she was not urinating into a drain, it was just on the pavement. Secondly, after she finished her biz, her mum pulled her into the MIDDLE of the pavement and started wiping her ass AND threw the piece of dirty tissue on the ground!!!! How disgusting can a person be? She don't even have the decency to throw the piece of rubbish into the dustbin. This makes me think of GP lesson yesterday when we were talking about the characteristics of Singaporeans. For almost 1hour and a half, we managed to come out with quite a lot of traits BUT they are all negative. When asked to think of positive traits, I found it extremely hard to find any. Polite they are not. Considerate definitely does not appeal to all, as seen from the example stated above. Might be a bit street-wise but as compared to other countries like Hong Kong and China, we definitely lose out by a long mile. Smart some may be but because of their smartness, they become complacent and arrogant, allowing others to overtake them. Good at making money seems to be a good trait but many treat money as their life and are willing to sacrifice values and principles to achieve wealth. From these few examples, even me the ultimate optimist more of the time am definitely NOT optimistic about the people of Singapore. Although all these does not apply to all Singaporeans, most of them are like that. Do not try to deny, think about it and tell me if are you really like that? Please!! I need someone to show me some hope in Singaporeans.. haha.. If not, we will soon become a condemned bunch of people. Haiz.. Economic success and worldwide recogniton for our country's work at the expense of our people's values and principles. Is it worth the effort?
