Today is finally the last day of school for me! Yay!! But my trip to school today was a wasted one. I was supposed to be there for 3 hours of lit and we were supposed to watch Rosencrantz and Guildenstern's DVD, BUT... Seems like the DVD is a pirated one.. haha.. We can't finish Disc 1 neither can we finish Disc 2. Both discs were 'dirty' and the scenes keep repeating. After some attempts to rewatch the show, Mr Steven Sim told us to go home. What a wasted trip. I braved the storm to get to school!! Haiz.. Fated man.. Aniwae, after that I went out and watched a movie. Horrors of all horrors, I watched a show that no one can believe: The Best Bet
To my surprise, it was quite a good show. The sequence of the show was quite interesting and creative. Although it is a local production and people will not have much expectations about the show, I would say that it is comparatively better than the rest of Jack Neo's previous movies. With the exception of 'Home Run' though. Most of it is in Hokkien but those who don't understand also can watch by reading the Chinese or English subtitles. On the whole, I would rate it 7/10 I guess. Actually, I think that local products are always discredited. Many Singaporeans condemn their own country's products and complain about Singapore products and stuff not able to make it big. What nonsense.. If even the locals refused to support their own country's products, do you think others will support? This applies to almost everything in Singapore. Take the S-League as an example. Almost all soccer fans ignore the fact that there's soccer teams in Singapore and go ga-ga over overseas soccer teams. Quoting from a guy who commented about the S-League, "Singaporeans act as if there's only ONE soccer league in the WHOLE WORLD and that's the EPL. That's what 150 years of colonial rule had done to us." Does this sound familiar? Heard it from the radio and TV but that's not the point. I think that this is particularly true. Singaporeans are weird people, rather give support to others than to support their own people. Even shopping also have to go overseas. Would rather other country's economy prosper than Singapore's economy prosper.
From one movie I can go on to condemn most of the Singapore population. haha.. Hope I didn't offend anyone but you will have to admit that it is indeed true. Aniwae... Going to play tennis tmr with xpr, kat and kutu. Stupid xpr want to meet at 930 at YCK.. SO EARLY!! haiz.. Shall stop here.. Have a sudden urge to go cycling.. haha.. :)
